Career - Commis Chef

Purpose of Role:


Food preperation work and basic cooking under the supervision of a chef de partie or section chef, rotating through sections such as sauce, vegetables, fish and butchery roughly every six months.



Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining high standard of hygiene
  • Preparing ingredients for a more senior chef
  • Measuring dish ingredients and portion sizes accurately
  • Dealing with deliveries and stick to rotation



Skills and Experience:

  • Loves cooking and passionate about food
  • Attention to detail
  • Self motivated
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision and guidance
  • Versatile, flexible and able to do different types of food preparation
  • Willing to learn from all sections of the kitchen
  • Relevant F&B experience is an added advantage
